John Hancock Observatory

Cheering on a Hustle up the Hancock climber? We’ve got even more reasons for you to visit John Hancock Observatory:

  • Be amazed by the stunning 360° views spanning 4 states – Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
  • Now there’s always a view. With our new interactive BeHold telescopes you can check out the day, live, and night views with a swipe of your credit card.
  • Stimulate the mind with our free multimedia Sky Tour, as Lookingglass co-founder David Schwimmer takes you through Chicago's history and hotspots (based on availability). Both adult and kids' versions are free with your entry and adult tour is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish.
  • Feel why Chicago's called the Windy City. Our Skywalk, the only open-air viewing platform in the city, takes you to the edge, 94 stories high above The Magnificent Mile®. And take in the dramatic history murals tracing Chicago's rise from marsh to metropolis.
  • Then relax in Chicago’s Highest Café and enjoy one of our unique espresso creations and savor fresh, made-to-order menu delights featuring the artistry of celebrity chefs. We now also serve a variety of domestic and international beers, wines from around the world and a selection of fine spirits for that celebratory toast after the climb.
